Publishing research findings is essential for advancing health knowledge, influencing policy, and building academic credibility. Yet many researchers struggle with manuscript preparation, journal selection, and navigating the peer review process.
This 5-week intensive masterclass equips health researchers, graduate students, and early-career academics with practical skills to write clear, compelling, and publishable scientific manuscripts. Participants will learn the structure of research papers, strategies for effective writing, how to select appropriate journals, and how to respond to peer reviewers.
Principles of clear writing, understanding your audience, ethical considerations, and authorship criteria (ICMJE guidelines).
IMRAD framework, writing the introduction (the funnel), methods (reproducibility), and results (telling the data story).
Interpreting findings, limitations, implications, and crafting abstracts that get cited.
Identifying target journals, understanding impact metrics, writing cover letters, and navigating submission systems.
Responding to reviewers, revising manuscripts, handling rejections, and ethical resubmission strategies.
